Global coalition to accelerate COVID-19 clinical research in resource-limited settings

Large, well conducted clinical trials are needed urgently to support guidelines on prevention and clinical management. Open collaboration and data sharing in these trials must be mandated while protecting the rights of participants and patients. Social  and  economic  inequality  between  countries, territories,  and  population  groups  has  increased  during the  pandemic.  Its  impacts  are  unevenly  distributed, revealing  the  interface  between  the  biological, economic,  and  social  worlds.  There  is  a  threat  of  a humanitarian  crisis  due  to  the  concrete  differences between  those  who  have  full  access  to  products, services,  and  health  and  those  who  can  be  left  behind.
